Online Shoppers in China Spend More

A recent Nielsen survey of over 27,000 internet users in 55 countries revealed that over 90% percent of Chinese online shoppers will make a purchase within the next six months whereas only 56% of Koreans (second most prolific online shoppers) and 37% of Phillipinos (third) online shoppers will purchase online over the next six months. 

 

China has 420 million internet users as of June 2010, an increase of 36 million in the past 6 months, according to a report from the China Internet Network Information Center, while online retail sales increased 117 percent annually aver the past 3 years and is expected to reach 450 billion yuan ($66.45 billion) in 2010.  Shoppers in China spend an average of 15% of their monthly buying online.
